Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transsexual Network
Aim: to help increase awareness within Tralee of the issues facing the gay and lesbian community. This action will involve providing awareness training for schools, teachers and parents and awareness training with students. This is collaboration with the Kerry Gay and Lesbian Network.
Integration and Diversity
Aims to promote social inclusion and equality for people from new communities: asylum seekers, refugees, new EU citizens, migrant workers, to meet the needs of these growing and diverse target groups and to encourage participation from these new communities in the local community and voluntary sector, work with Tralee International Resource Centre.
Supporting the RAPID Programme
To facilitate the real, consistent and equal participation of the community in the Tralee RAPID Programme, this will ensure equality of outcomes for each RAPID area. To generate increased community participation in the Spa Rd & Balloonagh communities and to support the women’s group.
Community Environment Funding-Heritage and Community Development Projects
Provides funding for local community environnment initiatives under the following headings: Heritage and Community Development Projects.
Supporting Volunteerism
A network has been established for the greater Tralee area for all community and voluntary organisations under the County Community and Voluntary Forum. A fund is made available to groups to support and develop volunteerism in the area.
