National Trails Day 2011

Walking in Kerry poses a pleasant dilemma! An incredible choice and variety of walks and treks, and never enough time.

With icons such as Carrauntoohil, Ireland’s highest mountain (1,039mtrs/3,123ft), in the hearth of the McGillycuddy Reeks and Mount Brandon (the second highest mountain) on the Dingle Peninsula, to Sceilg Mhichil with its incredible heritage (a UNESCO site) to Irelands longest beach, Brandon Bays’s 12 miles of pristine golden sands from Cloghane estuary to the tip of the Maharees peninsula, the choice is yours.

Loop Walks have been created and designed to let you explore the rural landscapes and villages of Kerry. They incorporate some of our local history and at all times allow you to enjoy the splendor of Kerry’s scenery.

There are gentle strolls of the John F. Leslie Woodland Walk and mountain treks of Glanageenty, an area of mystery, myth and folklore.

Please see link below for a selection of Loop Walk maps and trail information that have been designed to help you plan your itinerary and enjoy the best experiences of walking in Kerry.
