The Saoirse Advocacy Service
The Saoirse Advocacy Service provides professional advocacy support to people with an intellectual disability. The person with the intellectual disability directs the advocates work. The advocate will only act on your instructions. The service is free, independent and confidential.
Who can avail of the service?
People with an intellectual disability who are over 18 years of age and are from North or East Kerry. Any one can refer.
An advocate will support you to:
- Speak up for yourself and express your opinions.
- Support you with information, help you to write letters, complete forms and arrange meetings. The advocate will support you at meetings if requested and appropriate.
- Support you to access your rights and entitlements.
